Cold Lake Travel Guide
Welcome to Cold Lake!
Located 280 km (174 mi) northeast of Edmonton in Alberta—s Lakeland district, the City of Cold Lake offers a wealth of summer and wintertime outdoor activities, many of which are centred on the lake that both borders and lends its name to the city. Visitors can try out a number of water sports including boating, fishing, swimming, waterskiing and wakeboarding, and can join locals for a meal overlooking Cold Lake at the Cold Lake Marina. Sunbathers and sandcastle builders will enjoy an afternoon at Kinosoo Beach, while those who enjoy hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing and horseback riding can check out the Iron Horse, Millennium and African Lake trails. A number of fun events occur in Cold Lake throughout the year and favourites include the annual Community Fish Fry, Aqua Days and the Maple Flag which is perhaps the biggest occasion that occurs in the city. This international air force event takes place over six weeks at 4 Wing, the Canadian Forces Base in Cold Lake, and allows locals and visitors to observe sophisticated military aircraft.Current & Upcoming Events [ View All ]
